Offered Garments

These are garments I have made often for my own family and have prices already worked up for, because of familiarity. If you are wanting a different style of garment I can do that too, but the process might be a bit more involved to get it to be exactly what you want it to be.

Back Laced Dirndl

This simple and versatile dress is based on a German Dirndl. After years of wearing this dress I had added several features that have made it my favorite garment to wear. As a mother of young children I have the front of the bodice opening with buttons to allow easy access for breastfeeding. I recently added the lace up feature in the back to allow my favorite dress to grow with me as I expand in my last pregnancy. I'm at 8 months now and it still fits comfortably. This of course allows it to fit several sizes with little to no alterations in the pattern. The closure for getting in and out of the dress is a side zipper. This means you can tighten the ribbon to the fit you like and not need to adjust every time you put on the dress.

Price: $80 plus materials (2 yards of chosen fabric, button, zipper and cotton ribbon)

Simple Girls' Dress

I offer this dress in sizes 2 years up to 6 years currently. It is a pattern I developed for my daughter and it is the base of nearly every dress I make for her. It has a simple lined bodice with buttons in the back, and a full pleated skirt. It's light enough to be a nice summer dress, even during our hot summers and in the winter we wear it with leggings and an undershirt to keep her comfortable on the colder days.

Price: $40 plus materials (1 yard of chosen fabric, and buttons)

Simple Child's Tee

This shirt was developed for my son and is a nice relaxed fit perfect for our summer days. It can be great in a solid linen for a classic look or in a cotton print for a eye catching look.

Price: $20 plus materials (1/2 yard chosen fabric)

Child's Summer Shorts

These short were developed to go with the simple tee and carry on that simple relaxed look that is so easy to grab put on and wear everyday. With the elastic waist it is comfy and easy to put on, making it a great choice for young girls and guys.

Child's Overalls

These are a perfect colder weather choice for growing kids. I include longer straps with several buttons to grow with them as they grow rapidly. For my son I included sewn in cuffs that can be let down as the child grows and was able to have him wear the same pants for 2 years. They can also be made in a linen fabric to make them comfortable on all, but our hottest day.

Child's Winter Coat

Making winter coats has always been such a great investment. I have made winter coats for my kids and never bought them one. The pattern I use is a simple one, but become something extra special by adding a few easy changes. A favorite change for my kids is adding animal elements to the coats in whatever is their favorite animal at the time. I have made a dragon, and a fox, as well as some cute bunny versions. Or you can go with a simple outer wool fabric and pick a lining cotton with a wonderful print. I made one with a patchwork lining that looks great, but if you have a flower lover she can look classic on the outside and have her coat filled with a lovely floral.

Price: $50 plus materials (1 yard of chosen outer fabric, 1 yard of chosen inner fabric, and buttons)

Pricing Guidelines

To walk you threw the process, we start with a consultation. During this we discuss the garments you would like to be created for you. If they are one of the "Offered Garments" the process is more straight forward. You come and try on a prepared garment and see how the base fit is. if it fits to your liking we move straight to picking out fabric. If you need adjustment we start a fitting. This generally takes about 30 mins and includes the adjustments to the pattern.

From their we pick out fabric, I will fabrics that I suggest will look best for the garment you choose, and paying for this will be your deposit. If you have a fabric on hand that you wish to use I'm happy to use that as well as long as it is a good fabric for the garment.

I will then begin making your garments as soon as I have the fabric. Production time will vary based on what I have going on, but I will provide and estimate and keep you undated on the progress.

For custom garments that are not based on my "Offered Garments" the process is a bit different. Since it will be a garments I have not made before I will not know for sure how long it will take to complete and the final price won't be set in stone at the beginning. We will start with a consultation, during which we will talk in detail about the look and function of the garment. I will also measure you and we will come up with a design for the mock up (a practice version). Then I will complete a rough version of the garment and have you come to try it on. During this fitting we will make any adjustments needed to the fit and I will adjust the pattern. Depending on the complexity of the garment I will then move onto ordering fabric or we will do another mock up to confirm fit. Once the pattern is completed the process is the same as my Offered Garments. Once we have done this process I can make as many of that design as you like at a clear set price like one of my Offered Garments.

Fitting and Pattern Alterations: $20 (for 30 min fitting and pattern alterations marked during that fitting)

Sewing time: $20 per hour. My offered garments are priced based on the amount of time I know they take.

Added machine Embroidery: $5 for a one color design. I only have a 4"x4" hoop, so these designs are not large, but fit nicely on a child's shirt or bodice.

Pin tucks: $10 for 2 pin tucks on Children's skirts. This allows for extra length to be sewn into skirts and to be let out later as the child grows. I found this can increase the amount of time for the garments to fit for 1-2 extra years.
